Miss Stanley

SENCo and Teacher of Mathematics

We, as a school, have a great sense of community. Each person is unique but we are able to gel together and still celebrate our differences. TGS is very caring – with everyone often coming the help of others.

What do you think is special about TGS?
We, as a school, have a great sense of community.  Each person is unique but we are able to gel together and still celebrate our differences. TGS is very caring – with everyone often coming the help of others. Sixth formers who are new to the school often comment how easy it is to fit in when they arrive. There is a dedicated wellbeing team, and we are all experienced in supporting students in a calm and intelligent manner. Our priority is to see every learner succeed.

What do you enjoy most about being part of the TGS community?
I started teaching as I always wanted to help others, but TGS gave me the opportunity to help and benefit those outside my classroom. I am a caring person and being the SENCo is the role I enjoy the most.

What is the most rewarding part of your role?
The most rewarding part of my role as SENCo is seeing a student come out of their shell and really blossom after they have had a little bit of help in class or by the SEN department.

What has been your favourite moment at TGS so far?
I cannot pinpoint a favourite moment – there have been many times I have had enlightening chats with students which has shown me how differently they view lessons or aspects of life.  This has helped me to adapt my teaching for them and help other teachers to do the same.
