Academic success is only part of the TGS story. Empowering young people with the understanding, courage and skills they need to be successful, happy, healthy and resilient in an ever-changing world has equal focus. Students learn how to learn, think critically and be positive agents for change; all in an environment where they can really be themselves.

We are a high achieving selective grammar school with academy status, educating girls between the ages of 11 and 16 and girls and boys in the Sixth Form.

Our school community encourages all students to reach their potential in a caring environment where wellbeing is the priority.

A broad, balanced and challenging curriculum allows for the development of key skills enabling our students to explore, question and build resilience.

      Update

      Update made at 14.15pm on 15/1/26:

      We are pleased to let you know that the water issues on site have now been resolved and we are planning for the school to be open as normal tomorrow, Friday 16 January.

      The estates team will carry out a final check early in the morning. If any further issues arise, we will notify you as soon as possible, but for now please assume that the school will be open as usual.
