Tonbridge Grammar School wins Sunday Times Parent Power International Baccalaureate School of the Year 2024

We’re delighted that Tonbridge Grammar School has been recognised as:

  • The Sunday Times Parent Power International Baccalaureate School of the Year 2024 (a national award).
  • 3rd in the Southeast in the Times Parent Power State Secondary Schools category.
  • 16th Nationally in the Times Parent Power State Secondary Schools category.

This is testament to the exceptional students, staff and wider school community at Tonbridge Grammar School.

We’re strong believers in the power of the International Baccalaureate and it is integral to each student’s experience at Tonbridge Grammar School.  Students in KS3 follow the IB Middle Years Programme, apply the skills learnt in their GCSES and develop them further in their IB Diploma study in the Sixth Form.

The strength of the IB is that students have a clear understanding of how what they are learning can be applied to real world challenges, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to make real changes in the world.  Learning is always through an international lens, reflecting the global community to which we all belong.

Students understand and explore the natural connections between subjects, develop transferable research skills via a university-style research project and learn to think critically and challenge assumptions.

Being part of a global community starts at home and students run community projects which positively impact locally, nationally and internationally.

We believe in the power of continuing to study a depth and breadth of subjects in the Sixth Form, providing our students with the best possible foundation for the next stage of their education and career.
