Admission to Year 7 September 2023

TGS is a high achieving selective grammar school with academy status, educating girls between the ages of 11 and 16 and girls and boys in the Sixth Form. We are an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School.

For entry to Year 7 all applicants must complete their Local Authority Secondary Common Application Form (SCAF).

The School can only consider applicants who have been selective assessed according to the Kent 11+ test.

It is impossible to accurately predict where TGS cut off scores will settle, however for historical scores and an explanation of how places are allocated please see the below:

Guidance for parents

Kent Test Results 2022 (For entry September 2023)

To be grammar school assessed this year, a pupil needs an aggregate score of 332 or more, with no single score lower than 108.

It is essential that families put schools on their application form in the order that they genuinely prefer them regardless of other factors like historical scoring patterns (past years' scores are available in the 'Guidance for parents' download below). Putting TGS as your first choice does not represent any risk to the likelihood of success at other schools on your list.

TGS is closed Monday 24 October to Friday 28 October for half term holiday.  If you have any queries regarding the application process you may find they can be answered by visiting the Kent County Council website here and our own website admission page has an electronic prospectus, if you were not able to visit our Open Events last week.  However, if you should require any further clarification please contact admissions@tgs.kent.sch.uk and we will respond as soon as we can.

Supplementary Information Form (SIF) (please click here to download) is required ONLY from applicants who are eligible for and wish to apply for a Pupil Premium place.  Please be aware the SIF alone does not constitute an application.
