Open Events for Entry to Year 7 in September 2024

Our final open event for families of Year 6 children on 31 October is full to capacity and we are unable to accommodate any further events for September 2024 entry.

Kent Test (11+) Results Information

It is impossible to accurately predict where TGS cut off scores will settle.

To be grammar school assessed a pupil needs an aggregate score of 332 or more, with no single score lower than 107.

On Wednesday 18 October Kent County Council will use the email address parents supplied on registration to notify them of their child’s Kent Test assessment. Parents can also use their login details to view their child’s assessment decision and choose whether they wish to look at the child’s standardised scores, after 5:00pm.

Although there is no scope to appeal against the assessment decision itself, parents who name one or more grammar schools on the SCAF have the right appeal to an Independent Appeal Panel for admission to the named grammar school(s) once school places have been offered on Friday 1 March 2024.

It is essential that families put schools on their application form in the order that they genuinely prefer them regardless of other factors like historical scoring patterns (past years' scores are available in the 'Guidance for parents' download below). Putting TGS as your first choice does not represent any risk to the likelihood of success at other schools on your list.

TGS is closed Thursday 19 October to Friday 27 October for half term holiday.  If you have any queries regarding the application process you may find they can be answered by visiting the Kent County Council website here and our own website admission page has an electronic prospectus, if you were not able to visit our Open Events.  However, if you should require any further clarification please contact admissions@tgs.kent.sch.uk and we will respond as soon as we are able.

Please ensure you add TGS to your email safe senders list to avoid our notification going to your junk folder.

Registration of interest does not guarantee a ticket.  As soon as plans have been finalised we will share the details with you so that you can access the booking site. Ticket numbers may be restricted.

Admission to Year 7 September 2023

TGS is a high achieving selective grammar school with academy status, educating girls between the ages of 11 and 16 and girls and boys in the Sixth Form. We are an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School.

For entry to Year 7 all applicants must complete their Local Authority Secondary Common Application Form (SCAF).

The School can only consider applicants who have been selective assessed according to the Kent 11+ test.
