Speakers from Oxford, Bath, Goldsmiths and Surrey universities, plus support for students applying to overseas universities, apprenticeships and health professions.

As part of our wide-reaching programme to prepare students for their post TGS journeys, Year 12 enjoyed our annual ‘Aim High’ event, followed by an information evening for parents.

Speakers and workshops covered a variety of topics, including:

  • Applying to University – University of Bath.

  • Money Matters: Student Finance and Budgeting – Goldsmiths, University of London.

  • Applying for Competitive Universities – University of Oxford

  • Higher and Degree Apprenticeships – ASK Programme.

  • Student Finance – University of Surrey.

  • Applying for Allied Health Professionals – TGS Alumna.

  • Applying to Overseas Universities - The University Guys.

Our thanks to all who gave their time to support our Sixth Form students.

After Aim High I’m now considering making an Oxbridge application. The day also opened my mind to the wide range of courses I might want to study.

The finance talk really helped me to break down the way student loans work and what I need to consider in terms of budgeting, accommodation, loans and part-time jobs.

The event provided lots of information, meaning I feel much less overwhelmed about the post TGS process.
