Culture Day 2025

Tuesday was our annual Culture Day and School was a sea of colourful and intricate costumes reflecting and celebrating the rich cultural diversity of our community.

This off-timetable day allowed every student to experience five different interactive sessions relating to: food, music, dance/sport, craft, stories as well as the opportunity to showcase their cultural attire in a fashion show.

Activities included: Taiko Drumming, Indonesian Gamelan, Communal African Singing, Scottish Dancing, Haka, Foods of the World Sampling Challenge, Koinobori Streamers, Beading, Greek Myths and Hindu Epics to name but a few.

We were especially grateful to parents Mr Stewart and Mrs Hilburn who generously gave their time to run sessions.

The canteen served a delicious menu that reflected foods of the world. We were delighted that a group of our friends from the Scotts Project, whom our Sixth Form CAS students work closely with, could join us and thoroughly enjoyed the Fashion Show and drumming.

The sense of joy and fulfilment from the students was palpable:

I loved seeing everyone all dressed up and representing their country.
