CAS Story: Fundraising for TGS

Evelyn took part in a fundraising initiative that was started by one of her peers who needed help from other students.  She explains more:

students creating teddy bearsThe project involved collecting and sorting through old TGS PE Kit and uniform and then turning this into TGS-themed teddy bears to sell on the TGS 120th anniversary celebration to raise money for the school.

This involved, in December, going to the DT rooms during lunch and removing the buttons from the shirts, cutting the fabric to fit the template size and then sewing and stuffing the teddy bears. Then, in January, on the day of the TGS 120 celebration I helped sell the bears to visitors by directing them to where they would be able to purchase the bears in order to contribute to the collection of funds for the school.

At the TGS 120 anniversary celebration, many visitors came to the school to celebrate the 120 years of TGS. This is where the bears I helped to make were sold and I helped to do so by directing many of our visitors towards the places and people from which they could purchase these bears. Overall the sales were extremely successful, raising money for the school.
