CAS Story: History Club

Dhruv in Year 12 has participated in History Archive Club as part of the Creativity, Activity, Service element of his IB Diploma. He explains more:

History Archive Club is a commemoration of TGS's 120 year anniversary. As part of that, we go through the massive archives and make our school's history more known - such as filling in gaps in the timeline on our school's website, interviewing former head teachers/their families, and more. Through this, we learn how real historians investigate and find out about the past through the information they have.

I tried to continue my search for more information about the school song, specifically about Ms. Milne, the teacher who wrote lyrics for it. Unfortunately, I didn't find anything more about it, but instead found letters from 100 years ago addressed to the Principal of TGS(or TCGS!) at the time, Ms. Fayerman, as well as a photo of girls from our school meeting the late Queen Mother!

Next week, we are planning on each focusing on one specific era of our school's history, which is part of our work this year on remembering each head teacher's legacy and memories from their times!
