Kent Test Threshold for Entry 2026 and National Offer Day 2 March 2026

It is impossible to accurately predict where Tonbridge Grammar School cut off scores will settle.  We will not know the cut off score until National Offer Day on 2 March 2026.  Please read the 'Guidance for Parents Year 7 Entry 2026' below for further information and historic cut off scores.

To be grammar school assessed a pupil needs an aggregate score of 332 or more, with no single score lower than 108.

It is essential that families put schools on their application form in the order that they genuinely prefer them regardless of other factors like historical scoring patterns. Putting TGS as your first choice does not represent any risk to the likelihood of success at other schools on your list.

TGS is closed Monday 20 October to Friday 31 October for half term holiday.  Should you have any queries regarding the application process you may find they can be answered by visiting the Kent County Council website here and our own website admission page.  However, if you should require any further clarification please contact admissions@tgs.kent.sch.uk and we will respond as soon as we are able.

Secondary Common Application Forms (SCAF) need to be completed and returned to KCC by 31 October.

There is no Supplementary Information Form required for applying to TGS, unless applying for a Pupil Premium Place (of which there are 15 available and you must submit your SIF form to TGS by 31 October). More information is available here regarding this.

Parents will be advised of their child’s school allocation on Monday 2 March 2026.

We will not know our cut off scores until March - they will be posted on the website when known.  For historic cut off scores please review the Guidance for Parents document.
