Year 10 Geography Fieldwork Visit to Dorset

Year 10 Geography students recently enjoyed a successful and sunny fieldwork visit to Dorset visiting Lulworth Cove, Chesil Beach, Swanage and the Isle of Portland, where they studied key coastal landforms and processes.

Further highlights included visits to Old Harry Rocks and the Studland sand dunes, allowing students to investigate erosion, deposition and coastal ecosystems first-hand.

The trip provided valuable practical experience to support their GCSE studies and the data for their fieldwork investigations in Swanage, which they have to write about in their Paper 3 Examination. It was a memorable and enriching experience for all involved, with students demonstrating excellent engagement throughout.

It was a wonderful experience that helped to solidify our understanding of coastal processes and landforms.

Eva and Vedi, Year 10

The Dorset fieldwork trip was a fantastic opportunity for our students to see GCSE Geography come to life. The weather was kind to us, which meant pupils could fully engage with the fieldwork at Swanage, Lulworth Cove and Chesil Beach. They asked thoughtful questions, worked hard throughout the visit and represented the school brilliantly.
