Curriculum

From September 2026 subjects in our Sixth Form will be delivered as A Levels, a pathway in which we have a long tradition of success.  See here for more information. 

Study at depth, challenge yourself
Study the A Level subjects that interest you in an academically rigorous enquiry-led way, inspired by our experienced, inspirational and supportive teaching team. Super curriculars are not an add on here, they are a structured part of your programme (and you will receive ongoing guidance to build the optimum programme), allowing you to build on your interests in a considered way, exploring them in detail and boosting your university application. All students take part in interdisciplinary projects providing the opportunity to explore varied perspectives to solve global problems.

A personalised programme of study
We will work with you, in a guidance meeting*, to create a bespoke academic programme that intrigues and excites you and is aligned with your interests and future ambitions. We ask you to select 3 or 4 A Levels, and our ‘introduction to research’ sessions will guide you to make an informed choice as to whether you would like to undertake the EPQ.  All students completing the EPQ will have the suppport of a dedicated supervisor. 

This subject study sits alongside the wider TGS Sixth Form experience which includes a comprehensive super-curricular experience, wide-ranging leadership opportunities, destination-specific support, an active alumni network to inspire and guide, plus research opportunities. Find out more here

*All applicants who apply before 31/1/26 will be invited to a guidance meeting with a member of our senior team in the Spring Term. Parents/carers are welcome to attend with you.
