Every student learns how to undertake independent research in weekly guided sessions; following this you will have the opportunity to undertake independent research in the form of an Extended Project Qualification, if you so wish. 

Whether you are interested in researching the ethics of animal testing or the economic impact of AI; the historical significance of the fall of the Berlin Wall or the physics behind Space X's satellites there is the opportunity to explore a subject or problem that intrigues you.
