Dear Parent/Carer,

Welcome Evening Invitation - 6.00pm to 7.30pm

You are warmly invited to a social evening to welcome you and your daughter to the School. On this evening you will have the opportunity to meet other girls in your daughter’s Learning Community/House and their parents.

Please arrive for a 6.15pm start. The evening involves some short presentations and the opportunity to meet the Head Teacher and key members of the Year 7 team. After the presentations there is a chance to chat informally with other parents and staff over light refreshments.

I do hope that you will be able to join us. Please bring your daughter and feel free to bring any other siblings to this event, although we would suggest alternative childcare arrangements for younger children as the presentations are not suitable for them. So that the TGS students are easily distinguishable from other young guests, please ask your daughter to wear her school uniform.

For this event it is possible to park on the School site. We ask you not to park on the road as courtesy to our neighbours. To find out more about travelling to school please visit: www.tgs.kent.sch.uk/travel-plan.

There is no need to reply to this invitation. However, should you be unable to attend there will be a further opportunity to hear more about the Year 7 curriculum at our Experience Evening on 12 October and details of this will follow.

Yours sincerely

Rosemary Joyce
Head Teacher

Year 7 MYP Experience Evening

We would like to invite you to attend an information evening for Year 7 parents and carers on Thursday 12th October. The evening will run from 6pm until 8pm and will look at the coming year for Year 7 students. This event is for parents and carers only. There will be four presentations that will run on a carousel throughout the evening. The presentations will be held in small groups in the Hands Building.

The presentations will be:

We will outline some of the ways that you can support your child to lead an emotionally healthy life. This will be a workshop style session exploring a range of strategies.

“Enrichment opportunities in Year 7”

We will share school vision and proposed developments at TGS this year. There will also be an opportunity to talk informally to staff and other parents/carers of Year 7 students, whilst taking refreshments.
