Teacher of Mathematics (Full-time)

Required September 2019

Salary: MPS – UPS depending on experience

We are looking for an inspiring individual who will relish the opportunity to teach Mathematics to our highly motivated students. You should be a good Honours graduate, with a love of Mathematics. This position offers an exciting opportunity for someone wishing to establish their career in a stimulating and rewarding environment. 

Students in Years 7–11 and in our co-ed Sixth Form become increasingly independent learners as they progress through the School and achieve excellent outcomes at GCSE and in the internationally recognised IB Diploma. Mathematics is a required element of the IB Diploma for all our Sixth Form. Experience of teaching the IB is not essential. Training is offered as required.

The School offers an outstanding internationally minded education and an extensive professional development programmes for all staff including a full induction support programme for those new to the profession.

You should be a good Honours graduate, with a love of Languages and able to teach Spanish in the Sixth Form (IB Diploma) and French to GCSE. This position offers an exciting opportunity for someone wishing to establish their career in a stimulating and rewarding environment. 

Students in Years 7–11 and in our co-ed Sixth Form become increasingly independent learners as they progress through the School and achieve excellent outcomes at GCSE and in the internationally recognised IB Diploma. A foreign language is a required element of the IB Diploma for all our Sixth Form. Experience of teaching the IB is not essential. Training is offered as required.

Full-time

We are looking for an inspiring individual who will relish the opportunity to teach Geography to our highly motivated students. You should be a good Honours graduate, with a love of Geography and the Environment and able to teach the subject to the highest academic level. This position offers an exciting opportunity for someone wishing to establish their career in an intellectually stimulating environment. The ability to offer another subject is desirable.  

Students in Years 7–11 and in our co-ed Sixth Form become increasingly independent learners as they progress through the School and achieve excellent outcomes at GCSE and in the internationally recognised IB Diploma. Geography and Environmental Systems and Societies are popular choices in the Sixth Form. Experience of teaching the IB is not essential. Training is offered as required.

The National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL) runs the school experience programme, which offers prospective trainee teachers the chance to see what it’s like to be a teacher.

Tonbridge Grammar School is a leading institution for Initial Teacher Training offering a variety of ITE programmes from core PGCE to school-based employment programmes such as School Direct. We also support school-based work experience for potential new entrants to the profession through the School Experience Programme (SEP) where they are interested in applying for a school direct place with us.
For the academic year 2019-20, the subjects we are offering school experience in are English, Maths, Geography, PE, Music, MFL (French and Spanish only), RS, Chemistry and Physics.
