(plus 3 days to be worked in the School holidays)
Salary from: Point 15 – 17, £19,961 - £21,480 fte (Actual £6,984 - £7,515)

We are seeking a talented communications specialist. You will work across teams within the School to promote effective internal and external communication. There will be the opportunity to help shape our communications strategy and work in both print, broadcast and digital media.

Choral Director

Part time, term time:  April – July 2018

Tonbridge Grammar School is looking for an enthusiastic new Choral animateur to guide and develop our Choral music experience for students in Year 7-9. Currently this includes:

Junior Choir (Year 7 & 8) an all comers choir that sings at our regular school concerts often in local or London venues.

Cantores Choir (audition Year 8 & 9) perform regularly with local choirs and have had success in local choral competitions in recent years. This choir is the training choir for our internationally award winning Senior Motet Choir (directed by another member of the music staff).

Applicants should have appropriate choral experience and demonstrate ability in music directing.

Main duties include: directing weekly rehearsals; selecting music from the School’s extensive Choral Library; choosing singers for solos; agreeing accompanists with the Subject Leader for music; basic choral administration, including attendance, recruiting new members, and ensuring the uniformity of group attire.

The role can be tailored to individual skills and future aspirations. There is opportunity to develop the co-curriculum in music.

This is a part-time position until 20 July 2018. There is a weekly commitment of about four hours per week. Evening concerts and other performances.

The National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL) runs the school experience programme, which offers prospective trainee teachers the chance to see what it’s like to be a teacher.

School Experience Programme

Tonbridge Grammar School is a leading institution for Initial Teacher Training offering a variety of ITE programmes from core PGCE to school-based employment programmes such as School Direct. We also support school-based work experience for potential new entrants to the profession through the School Experience Programme (SEP) where they are interested in applying for a school direct place with us.

For the academic year 2018-2019, the subjects we are offering school experience in are English, Maths, Geography, PE, Music, MFL (French and Spanish only), Chemistry and Physics.
