Sixth Form Admissions Timetable
The Open Evening runs from 5.30pm until 8.30pm. There is a welcome talk from the Head Teacher and Director of Sixth Form at 6.30pm. You will be able to talk to teachers and students and find out about Sixth Form life and enrichment. There will be a university and careers zone with guest speakers.
You can apply online via our website to join us in the Sixth Form (not through UCAS Progress). The application form is only for students who will be joining us from other schools. If you are at TGS already then you will complete a transfer form (similar to the Options form) in your guidance meeting.
Over the course of the week you will be invited to a guidance meeting to discuss subject choices, the diploma programme and any questions you might have. Parents and carers are welcome to attend the meetings.
You can still apply after this date, but most students will have completed their applications by this time. The subjects we will offer in September are based on applications received by this date (this is known as the Spring Offer).
Visit from Hariette Pearson, now a qualified hospital doctor.
Not to be missed if you’re considering a career in medicine.
You are invited to a guidance meeting from this week to discuss subject choices, the diploma programme and any questions you might have. Parents and carers are welcome to attend the meetings.
All applicants to the Sixth Form are invited to attend our annual Careers Fair. It is popular event with over 50 professionals representing more than 20 professions. There’s the opportunity to “speed network” to learn more about potential career paths. In addition, there are talks for parents and carers.
You will be sent a conditional offer to study with us. We will ask you to confirm your place with us before the Easter holidays – it will be one less thing to worry about before you-know-what begin.
Spend a day with us after your GCSE examinations to help prepare for Sixth Form life at TGS. You will meet (and bond!) with your form group. There will be team building activities, taster lessons and an opportunity to experience the facilities of the IBarn.
We ask you to contact us to let us know how you have got on and to register your place. We also offer guidance meetings should you wish to make any changes to your programme – we aim to confirm any subject change requests by the following Tuesday.
We will see you at 9.30am! The first two days are all about settling in, finding your feet and getting ready for an exciting two-years with us in the Sixth Form.
