Congratulations to our Year 7 team who won the First Lego League 2018 Kent & Medway Judges’ Award in the world’s largest research and robotics tournament at the University of Kent.
An intrepid group of Year 11s and 12s had a “cold, invigorating, informative and thoroughly enjoyable” weekend training for their Silver Duke of Edinburgh final expedition.
On May 17th all of Y9 travelled to Belgium to explore the WWI memorials and trenches, finishing with wreath laying at the Menin Gate.
In April and May five universities visited TGS to talk to Year 12 students about university choices and making competitive applications. It was wonderful to welcome back TGS Alumna Alexandra, who is now Admissions Officer at University of Manchester.
Y11 & 12 linguists enjoyed a visit from Christine Mathias, Senior Lecturer in Latin American History and Toby Green, Senior Lecturer and Admissions Tutor at King’s College London, who gave them an insight into studying Spanish and Portuguese at university.
In May TGS students visited Saint-Lô, Normandy. This was the second leg of the French Exchange, the first half of which happened in October of 2018.
