Tonbridge Grammar School student achieves the highest mark in History GCSE paper.

We’re delighted to announce that Year 12 Student Amelia has received the 2018 Joe Scott Prize for History.  The prize is awarded to the candidate who scores the highest marks in the Schools History Project OCR B (SHP) History GCSE paper.

Amelia reflects on receiving the prize “I still can’t really believe that I won this prize. I was over the moon when I found out.  It was really interesting to learn about Dover Castle and it was something that I wouldn't have had the opportunity to study otherwise.  It was fascinating to learn more about local history”.

Head Teacher Rosemary Joyce comments “Congratulations and well-done Amelia! The award is well-deserved and testament to Amelia’s continued hard work and positive approach to study. We’re delighted that Amelia has continued her study of History into the Sixth Form”.

Tonbridge Grammar School welcomes applications to join the Sixth Form in September 2019.  See https://www.tgs.kent.sch.uk/sixth-form-admissions-1 for more information.
