We are proud to announce that Tonbridge Grammar School will be helping to lead the Kaizen Teaching School Alliance in the development of their joint National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership next academic year . The course is being run in collaboration with Altius, Kaizen, LLSE and the Sevenoaks Partnership.
The Kaizen Alliance have recently successfully launched their Senior Leader National Professional Qualification for teachers. The Kaizen Teaching School Alliance (KTSA), established since September 2014, now comprises of 11 schools. School partners represent primary, junior, secondary, special, faith and selective schools and academies drawn from across the Kent and Medway area.

The main focus of this new ML programme, which was written by outstanding Head Teachers, is to ensure that aspiring or current middle leaders in our schools increase their confidence, capability and impact as a middle leader. The course will empower participants to proactively develop a strong network to support them in their first steps in leadership. There will be 4 face to face sessions between November 2018 and March 2019.
During this course delegates will:
* develop knowledge and skills across 6 content areas, which set out what an effective middle leader should know and be able to do
* have the opportunity to develop up to 7 key leadership behaviours, which set out how an effective leader should operate
* complete a final assessment that evaluates a leaders' capability against the knowledge and skills set out in 6 content areas
Funding is for a limited period and will cover the full participant costs of the course for teachers working in an Opportunity Area or a priority area (defined by the DfE as a category 5 or 6 'Achieving Excellence' area).These areas include Ashford, Crawley, and Gravesham,
