Richard Henderson Chemistry Nobel Prize winner 2017 to speak at Tonbridge Grammar School
The 2017 Nobel Prize in Chemistry award winner Richard Henderson will be visiting TGS next week to talk to 6th formers about his work in the development of cryo-electron microscopy. This technology, now widely used in structural biology labs, is considered a stepping stone in the visualization of life at the molecular level. By freezing biomolecules in the middle of their activity, scientists can better understand the inner workings of the molecular machinery that keeps us alive. TGS students are looking forward to meeting him and there will be a Q&A at the end of the session.
