Tonbridge Grammar School students celebrate sustained excellent IB Results

Sixth Form students and staff have a great deal to celebrate with the publication across the world of the International Baccalaureate Diploma results.

“I warmly congratulate all of our IB Diploma students for their truly outstanding achievement.  Not only are our Diploma students here amongst the very best in the world academically but, we know, their Diploma experience has equipped them academically and more broadly with the skills and qualities that universities and employers prize.  With the Diploma behind them our students really do have a competitive edge and can look forward to a bright future.  Congratulations also to the dedicated and inspirational team of staff who work tirelessly to support our students to such fantastic success.”

Rosemary Joyce, Head Teacher

One student achieved 45 points, the highest possible score. Two students achieved 44 points, six students achieved 43 points and twelve students were awarded 42 points - there is plenty to celebrate!

Half the year group are celebrating point scores of 38 and above (equivalent to 3A* and 1A at A Level) and 82% of this year’s Diploma graduates achieved points totals that put them in the highest echelons of UK academic achievement (3A* at A Level).

The average point score achieved was 37; continuing the school’s strong record of achievement since having moved to an exclusively IB Diploma Sixth Form five years ago.
