Term starts for Year 7 & 12 students today.
In Year 7, students have spent today with their Learning Mentors getting ready for lessons that start tomorrow. Mrs Ryde, Curriculum Director Years 7-8 said ” Year 7 have made a brilliant start this morning”. They have been very busy map making around the school, finding their lockers, getting their PE kit, logging on to the IT network for the first time and even writing a letter to their future selves.
We would like to thank our Year 11 prefects and Sixth Form leaders who have come into school today to help our newest members of the Tonbridge Grammar School community settle in so well.
In the Sixth Form, students have started their two-year IB Diploma Programme course with their tutors, helped by former TGS Diploma students and outreach staff from the University of Sussex. They have taken part in sessions in IT, study skills (with the University of Sussex) and Theory of Knowledge. They have also spent time in the IBarn, getting to know each other and enjoyed lunch at the IBistro!
