GCSE Students at Tonbridge Grammar School Achieve Exceptional Results.
Students at Tonbridge Grammar School (TGS) are celebrating outstanding results again this year which show even further improvement from last year’s exceptional results. All students gained 8 or more A*- C grades including English and Mathematics. 79 pupils (53 per cent which is a 6 per cent increase on last year) gaining 10 or more A or A* grades with 20 pupils (14 per cent) having gained 10 or more A*s. Overall, 62 per cent of all GCSE results were at grade A* and 89 per cent at A*or A.

I am absolutely thrilled with the achievements of our students this summer. Their results are exceptional across the board and they have even improved on the already outstanding results last year. All our students should feel really proud of their achievements which reflect their exceptional hard work and commitment. Congratulations also go to the dedicated staff who have supported the girls to success. ‘
The average points per entry attained of 7.49 (on the nationally reformed point score system) is the equivalent of a strong A grade. Students achieved the highest grades in all subjects, in particular core disciplines where every student studies three sciences, two English subjects, and at least one language. Mathematics results were exceptional with 118 students (80 per cent) achieving an A*, 139 (94 per cent) at A* or A and all grades at B or above. 138 students (93 per cent) gained A* and A grades in GCSE English. Students also achieved exceptionally high grades in GCSE Science and Modern Foreign Languages with the following figures reflecting the number of A* or A grades in each discipline; French 44 (98 per cent), Spanish 79 (95 per cent), Biology 137 (93 per cent), Physics 137 (93 per cent) and Chemistry 131 (89 per cent).
