Last week the Junior and Senior Dance Companies competed in Regional Finals of ‘The Great Big Dance Off’, a national schools dance competition. The standard this year was even higher than last, however both groups performed beautifully with outstanding results.
The Junior Dance Company performed with exceptional poise and style, finishing in 2nd place and securing themselves a place at the National Finals in July.
The Seniors highly technical dance piece was performed with an energy that can only be described as explosive and ending up finishing in 3rd place. Rebecca, one of our extremely talented Year 13 students, gives an account of her experience with the Senior Dance Company,
“Being in the TGS dance company for the last two years has been one of the best parts of my time at this school. It's given me so many opportunities to perform and develop myself as a dancer and a choreographer as well as giving me the opportunity to form some amazing friendships with people from across the school who I otherwise would never have encountered. The team spirit helps to make every rehearsal and every performance so much fun as well as helping to bring out the best in each other on stage.”
Well done to all of the girl’s involved and good luck for the finals in July.
