On the 4th March 2016, TGS held its annual World Book Day event and this year the proceeds raised were for the charity Joshua Orphan Care which 20 Year 12 students are partnering with in July for their community project trip to Malawi. As usual, the TGS students put their all into creating some amazing outfits which truly did catch the eye of everyone nearby. As well as the book day, the Malawi students also set up a book shop where people could buy nearly new books for only 50 pence and the donations we receivedfrom students were absolutely unbelievable; without them, we would not have raised the incredible £1056.02 that we achieved. The event was a huge success, and it was very enjoyable to watch people walking around school in some crazy outfits! The teachers also put in a huge effort, with many dressing up as characters from Camelot, which provided many students with entertainment throughout the days lessons.
