On Wednesday 29th April TGS Dance Company competed in the South East Regional Finals at the Cliff Leas Theatre, Folkestone. Having only formed a matter of months ago, this was their first competition. The company were led by Mrs Mackenzie, and special thanks must go to volunteer Mums, Mrs Thomas, Mrs Mustill-King and Mrs Biggs for their tremendous help and support throughout the day.
The girls were programmed to perform in the second half of the competition so took their seats on the balcony to watch the first half. Although the standard of dance was high, by the end of the first half, the girls still felt confident that they may be in with chance of being placed.
The girls performed exquisitely; executing the choreography with absolute precision, whilst still retaining a sense of effortless grace contrasted with bursts of dynamic energy. The next four schools to perform were also of an extremely high standard, both technically and choreographically.
After all the dance groups performed, the results were announced and TGS Dance Company took 1st place, becoming the South East Regional winners. The girls are going on to represent the South East in the National finals at New Alexandria Theatre, Birmingham, on Monday 22nd June.
Well done TGS Dance Company, a well deserved result and best of luck for the Finals.
