More medals for TGS netball

The Tonbridge Grammar School year 7 netball team added to the haul of medals the school has won at County, Regional and National level this year, as they finished runners up to in the County netball tournament on Thursday 26th March.

The morning matches were played at Aylesford, where the team won all their matches comfortably, conceding only one goal. They then moved to Rainham where they played superbly well to win their matches in the 2nd round, quarter- and semi- finals. The final against local rivals Sevenoaks School was evenly matched but was eventually lost 6-2.

Player of the team was Centre, Sophia Furse, who played in all the matches. She was supported by brilliant shooting by Ella Thompson, Eryn Salako and Charley Brown who scored nearly 50 goals between them. The defensive team of Alice Claridge, Alice Lethaby and Milla Doran combined smoothly with the centre court players of Captain Charlotte Saunders, Ellie Haynes, Holly Eyre and Josie Oatley.

A special thank you goes to Julie Cross for umpiring and coaching, and to the many parents who came to support their daughters.
