Kent School Games Tag Rugby

The girls started well winning their first game against St Georges and then their second game, a tough encounter against Bennett. The third game against Hugh Christie saw us emerge victorious against a very evenly matched team .

The team finished with a hard fought win against a much bigger team from the Isle of Sheppey but our flexibility and pace told once again.

There were fine performances and individual tries from Leah McCarthy, Tillie Drapper and Abbie Phillips. Scorers of tries based on good temawork were Lauren Benyon, Olivia Stapleton, Abena Kankam, Lydia Jennings and Lucy Fitzmaurice. Scorer of the most tries from close to the try line was Hannah Jackson who always seemed to be in the right position to score a quick try. We were unbeaten and won our group.

The final against Knole Academy was a hard game with strong tackling from both sides. The girls kept their heads when going 1 try down and fought back to have a 3-1 lead at half time. Knole increased the tempo of their game but we emerged winners and champions with a 4-3 Final victory.

Well done to all of the girls that trained and took part in the competition.
