Year 8 Hockey Team come 6th at Regional Finals (East of England)

Some of our Year 8 Hockey Players continued to build on their success as County runners up at the County Hockey Finals when they went on to represent Kent at the East of England Hockey Finals at Redbridge, Essex on Wednesday, 12th March. 16 schools from 8 different counties competed at the finals, and TGS held their own at competed to a very high level.

TGS narrowly missed out on qualifying for the placements pool for 1st to 4th place by one goal, and in fact the team they lost to narrowly in this very close game went on to qualify for the Nationals. We finished a very respectable 6th place in the whole of the East of England out of 16 schools, and in addition, finished in a higher place to the other Kent representative team, Kings Canterbury.

This is a fantastic achievement and the girls should be congratulated on their skills, attitude and sportsmanship.

Also, many thanks to parents who again gave up their time to assist and support. A great day was had by all!
