TGS student wins Sixth Form Carol Competition at Sevenoaks School

On Sunday 7 December, Year 12 IB Music student Natalie Jobbins went to Sevenoaks School for a fantastic day of composition workshops with a top London chamber choir.
The Cantus Ensemble, a young, dynamic chamber choir comprising 35 members, sung through around 35 brand new Christmas carols written by students aged between 9 and 18 - quite a feat of sight-singing for the choir and a fantastic opportunity for the students, many of whom haven't written their own music before, let alone heard it performed!

Natalie won the prize for her Carol 'I cannot find words' in the Y12 & 13 category.

According to competition organiser and composer Chris Roe: “All of the young composers’ enthusiasm, creativity and hard work has resulted in an extremely high standard across all of the age categories."
