Students at Tonbridge Grammar School (TGS) have performed exceptionally well in their GCSEs this year with 22 pupils (15 per cent) having gained 10 or more A*s. Overall, 81.2 per cent of all GCSE results were at grade A or better.
Mrs Rosemary Joyce, Head Teacher at TGS, said:
"I am delighted that the results our students have achieved are a true reflection of the dedication and hard work that they have put in. They are a credit to the school and themselves."
Every pupil attained 5 GCSES including English and Maths at grade C and above. The average points per entry attained of 53.59 is the equivalent of an A grade. In Mathematics 140 pupils (94 per cent) gained an A or A*, in English Language 138 pupils (93 per cent) gained an A or A*, and 119 pupils (90 per cent) gained an A or A* in Biology.
Six students achieved 11 A*s as well as an A* in the Religious Studies short course. They include;
Jessica Goodfellow, Siling Zhang, Alexis Beney, Susannah Da Silva, Sarah Partridge and Jasmine Calladine, Rhea Datta and Rebecca Sanders who are all from Tonbridge.
