School success at English Schools Union competition

Georgina Hawkes, Emma Wagstaff and Alice Boyd (all from Year 11) became Public Speaking champions for their county last night in a fiercely contested English Schools Union competition, beating five other local rival schools in the process.

In their debut appearance for the school in Public Speaking, all three girls showed poise, eloquence and passion in their delivery to a well-attended event at the local Crowborough Community Centre.

Georgina won first prize for her speech on, "The internet and instant communication are profoundly changing our future for the better", and all three girls will now "speak off" against other schools from the South East to become Regional Champions in a couple of weeks – well done girls!
