Arthur

Alumnus (interviewed when in Year 13)

Never before have I met such a diverse range of talented, intelligent, friendly people as I have at the Sixth Form at TGS. Each student is aspiring to do so many interesting things in the future and many of them are already doing fascinating things. I find this environment has inspired me and that is what is so special about TGS.

What was it like joining TGS from another school?

I never expected to be as welcomed and integrated into the school as I was.  I immediately found my place in the school thanks to the many friendly students and it is very interesting being in a school with so many different people and with such a different culture to my last school.

Why did you choose TGS?

After my GCSEs I had grown fond of many of my subjects and this made it particularly hard to choose only 3 or 4 A-levels to study. I also wanted to challenge myself and open more doors for me in the future.

The solution became clear to me that the International Baccalaureate was the best option. Upon hearing about the IB, I became fascinated as to how it enabled a continuation of all the key subjects I had enjoyed in GCSE, but also took it to a much higher level.

What do you think is special about the Sixth Form at TGS?

Never before have I met such a diverse range of talented, intelligent, friendly people as I have at the Sixth Form at TGS. Each student is aspiring to do so many interesting things in the future and many of them are already doing fascinating things. I find this environment has inspired me and that is what is so special about TGS.

What do you plan to do after TGS?

I have many aspirations for the future though I am not entirely sure exactly what I want to do after Sixth Form. I am considering doing a course in Fine Art or Graphic Design at the Royal College of Art or the Royal Academy of Art. In addition to this I would also like to partake in theatre and film, perhaps studying at RADA.

What has been your favourite moment so far?

There have been many great moments, but what I have found my most enjoyable are Sports Fridays. On a Friday we are able to wear more comfortable sports clothes, and then at lunch, we are able to play a range of sports and activities from rounders to football to dodge ball. As a sports enthusiast and football player these days are the highlight of my week.
