A snapshot:

  • Alumni visitors have shared their experiences of studying Languages at university
  • Alumni have put MedSoc and VetSoc students through their MMI paces ready for their HE interviews online
  • Alumni and parents have given Oxbridge applicants their personal insights and top tips both online and at weekly meetings
  • Alumni and parents have mentored students and given practice interviews across a wide range of subjects, in school and as teams meetings for smaller groups
  • Newly formed ChemSoc has welcomed several speakers already including alumni scientists and commercial scientists
  • Parents and carers have run workshops for Philosophy students, showing them how ethics applies to their workplace
  • Parents and carers have run workshops for English, 'non-fictional article writing'.
  • At the Careers Evening in March 60+ professionals offered 200+ students one to one time to chat and explore a huge range of sectors.
  • Alumni speakers at 10 to 6 in June included first year Oxbridge, Medicine, and Japanese students
  • Alumni speakers for Offer holders June and July gave insights to Engineering, Law apprenticeships, Games Art, Architecture and Landscape Architecture.
  • The established speaker series has included guest speakers who come in to school for one to one, small group workshops and whole year group assemblies. Topics have included Academic history, Cultural diversity
  • Volunteers are a huge help at school events and to support the energetic PTA.

None of this would be possible without the very personal and invaluable commitment and engagement of the whole school community and beyond.
