Open Events

Parents, students and other schools' staff are very welcome to come to our Open Events, and there is no need to book. You will be greeted by students who will provide you with a school tour and escort you to the Head Teacher’s talk should you wish to attend (tickets for the talk will be issued to guests on arrival on a first come first served basis).

Please allow approximately 45 minutes for a school tour, and a similar time for the Head Teacher’s Presentation.

For 2020 Entry to Year 7

Our Year 6 Open Events were held during the week commencing 7th October.

Due to the later than usual release of Kent Test results this year, we regret that none of our Open Events could be scheduled for a date after parents have been made aware of their child(ren)’s results.

Please see our Entry to Year 7 page for more information about the School Tours that we hold monthly from November to May.

For 2020 Entry to Sixth Form

For those students who were unable to attend the Sixth Form Open Evening on 2nd October please contact to book a place on a Sixth Form Admissions Tour. There will be an opportunity to meet with the Director of the Sixth Form and hear more about the IB Diploma and the Sixth Form experience at TGS.

Tours will be running at the following times:

  • 9 October: 2.15pm

  • 6 November: 2.15pm

  • 13 November: 2.15pm

  • 4 December: 2.15pm

Please note there will be no parking available on the school site. We are located in a residential area with parking restrictions. When visiting the school please avoid bringing your car into the immediate area and make use of the park and ride system we will operate from Sovereign Way North car park (see map below).

Minibuses will collect from and deliver to the Sovereign Way North car park between 9.15am and 12.30pm for the Open Mornings above and between 5.15pm and 8:45pm for the two Open Evenings above.

If you have to access the school by car (blue badge holders should contact to reserve a space) please follow an informal one-way system, approaching the school uphill from the Pembury Road end of Deakin Leas and leaving uphill via Baltic Road and The Drive.

Thank you for your cooperation.
