Congratulations to students on their excellent IB Diploma results

Congratulations to students who are celebrating success in the IB Diploma and join an international community of IB lifelong learners.

They studied an academically rigorous programme designed to develop critical thinking skills and create breadth of experience and knowledge; whilst at the same time preparing them for both higher education and the world of work.

These results continue the School’s strong record of achievement as an all IB Diploma Sixth Form.

 Key points:

  • The Tonbridge Grammar School average awarded IB point score is 38; well above the 2022 UK average score of 36.35 and the 2022 global average score of 31.98 points.

  • 42% of students are celebrating point scores of 40 and above (40 points is above the equivalent of 4 A*at A Level).

  • 84% of this year’s Diploma graduates achieved points totals above the equivalent of 3A* at A Level, placing them in the highest echelons of UK academic achievement.

  • 6 students achieved the maximum IB point score of 45.

  • 9 students scored an impressive 44 points.

  • 7 students gained 43 points.

  • 10 students were awarded 42 points.

These are fantastic results and so well deserved.  The past two years have been incredibly challenging for all students given the interruption to learning caused by the pandemic.  Our students have demonstrated their tenacity and resilience to achieve to their very best through focus, determination and their passionate commitment to learning.   They have been very well supported by our dedicated and inspirational team of staff who have worked tirelessly to support our students to such fantastic success.  World-class results, coupled with the wider experiences and skills the IB Diploma provides really give students the competitive edge in Higher Education and the workplace.  We wish our leavers a well-deserved and relaxing summer break and look forward to hearing about their post-TGS journeys.
