Founded in 1992 under its current director Adrian Pitts, TGS Motet Choir has performed at major venues across the UK, such as the O2 arena, Barbican, Royal Festival Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, as well as Cathedrals in London. Members are aged 14-18 years, the girls' choir undertakes a number of charity concerts each year.
Motet have had great success in national choir competitions, including winning Barnardo’s National Choir competition in 2009 and 2013, and being runners up in the BBC Songs of Praise School Choirs competition in 2007 and 2013. In 2015 they were televised again in the final stages of the BBC competition. They won gold and silver medals at their 3rd European Choir Games appearance in Riga, Latvia in 2017 as one of three representative choirs from GB. Last summer they were finalists at the Music for Youth National Festival in Birmingham.
