Tonbridge Grammar School have launched a new twilight enrichment programme to local primary school pupils  in Years 4 and 5. The aim of the programme is to support maths and literacy skills, and the transition process by providing additional learning opportunities within a secondary school environment. An art and craft option will also be available.

We are pleased to offer more free classes throughout 2019 as part of our twilight enrichment programme to eligible primary school pupils in Years 4 and 5.

 These classes form part of our well-established HORIZONS programme which is open to girls and boys in Years 4 and 5, who:

  • are in receipt of the pupil premium grant or may be in care or are young carers themselves, and

  • have the potential to sit the Kent Test for grammar schools in the future.

The aim of these classes is provide opportunities for eligible pupils to develop:

  • higher level numeracy and problem solving skills;

  • higher level comprehension, literacy and verbal reasoning skills.

The programme also aims to support the transition process by providing these additional learning opportunities within a secondary school environment.

Access to the Horizons programme is through recommendation by the child's primary school.

The classes compliment Tonbridge Grammar School’s revised admission arrangements, resulting in the availability of 10 Pupil Premium places at Year 7 entry. These places are for girls eligible for Pupil Premium with a selective assessment through the Kent PESE 11+ Test, resident in any of the following three local council areas: Tonbridge & Malling Borough, Tunbridge Wells Borough and Sevenoaks District.  Full details of our admissions policy and procedures are available here..
