Tonbridge Grammar School have launched a new twilight enrichment programme to local primary school pupils  in Years 4 and 5. The aim of the programme is to support maths and literacy skills, and the transition process by providing additional learning opportunities within a secondary school environment. An art and craft option will also be available.

Following a successful pilot of our twilight enrichment programme to local primary school pupils in Years 4 and 5, we are pleased to offer more free classes throughout 2018.

These particular classes form part of our HORIZONS programme which is primarily open to girls and boys in Years 4 and 5 who are:

  •  in receipt of the pupil premium grant or may be in care or are young carers themselves, or any child whose family/carers would not normally be able to take up these opportunities.

The aim of these classes is provide opportunities for eligible pupils to develop:

  • higher level numeracy and problem solving skills;
  • higher level comprehension, literacy and verbal reasoning skills.

The programme also aims to support the transition process by providing these additional learning opportunities within a secondary school environment.

Access to the Horizons programme is through recommendation by the child's primary school.
