Have you ever wondered why? Then read on. By the end of Year 9, we want you to be confident in your abilities in History, have a good knowledge of some of the key moments in History and be able to address some of the most important questions, like why?
You explore topics drawn from the Middle Ages through to the later 20th century. These cover turning points, like the Norman Conquest; international affairs, like the two World Wars; and social issues, like the impact of the Black Death. You explore these topics in different ways, doing individual research, participating in group work, making models, using historical sources.
Throughout, you consider the causes of events, the links between factors, the outcomes of key moments in History, trying to explain the possible reasons why events in the past turned out in a particular way.
