Drama

As well  as developing your knowledge of theatre traditions from around the world, you craft your individual performance skills, such as voice, movement and characterisation and learn how to use the medium of drama to create mood and atmosphere on stage.

In the Lower School you are encouraged to participate in extra-curricular drama activities including clubs, house competitions, showcases and full-scale productions. We provide you with opportunities to attend theatre trips and workshops, and you will be kept informed of auditions and other events such as 'Tonbridge Has Talent'.

As well as developing your confidence when speaking in public, drama extends your self-reflection and critical skills. You often work with others in creative activities and are encouraged to initiate ideas, take risks and apply your knowledge to new situations. We teach you the theatrical conventions of Classical, Medieval, Renaissance and Modern drama so that you can make informed creative choices of your own.
