It is upon reaching the Sixth Form that our students really gain maximum benefit and advantage from the TGS experience. Teaching provides students with the high level skills necessary for employment beyond university and for life.
Our extensive curriculum develops knowledgeable and caring young people who learn the value of intercultural understanding and respect.
We believe that the IB Diploma Programme not only offers an ambitious curriculum that provides intellectual breadth, depth and higher level skills in thinking, it also imbues our young people with a love of learning and enquiry.
All IB students participate in six subjects: students choose a subject from each section of the IB programme. For depth, three subjects are studied at Higher Level (HL), and for breadth, three at Standard Level (SL). This means that everyone studies literature in English, a foreign or classical language, a humanities course, a science and mathematics. For those who wish to take an arts subject, or a second language, science or humanities course this is offered in Group 6. Every student also undertakes the core which consists of:
- an extended essay
- a theory of knowledge course (TOK)
- a diverse extra-curricular programme (CAS)
