Right from the very beginning of Year 7 we study life and living organisms in Biology. You learn about reproduction, the inheritance of characteristics, the environment and how diet affects us, amongst other topics.

We do experiments which help us to learn how living things behave. These include exploring the response of woodlice to light and dark, and humid and dry conditions. You make your own microscope slides and the model cell project enables you to demonstrate your artistic and creative side.

You are encouraged to apply logical reasoning to problems and to think for yourself. We ensure that you have opportunities to use skills learned elsewhere within your work in Biology. All of this helps you to question and understand the world around us.
