I truly enjoy how free I feel to express myself in the classroom and within the school as the staff are very open to student initiatives and ideas and encourage students to question the systems around them and their impact. Students are also very involved in club activities and participating in the opportunities the school offers, so it has been great to see other students' passions thrive in the TGS environment. 

Geography is my favourite subject because we have an amazing teacher and she teaches us the current issues of the world around us.  

The Model United Nations club I am co-running must be one of my top joys. My enjoyment stems from the engaging debates on global matters from a variety of countries' standpoints as our club comes together after research to have mini-conferences. A big triumph was getting into an upcoming conference, where we can apply the MUN skills fostered and join in the MUN fun with other schools!

Product Design is my favourite subject because we always do such creative projects that are usually based around a problem that we need to solve which I like doing because it gives me the chance to try solving real-world problems. For example, in Year 7 we made puppets to help children with their fears and a lot of our projects avoid harming the environment by trying to save resources. I also enjoy Chemistry because it involves lots of experiments that always have interesting results.  

There are lots of things I enjoy about being at TGS. However, I think one thing I really enjoy the most is the facilities offered here at TGS. From modern classrooms to having gym facilities which we can use essentially anytime is something that I particularly enjoy. On top of that, as Sixth Formers, we have access to an entire building just for Sixth Form Students which has study rooms, a computer room and a chill zone (we even have a Costa in there as well!), which is awesome.  

Out of many amazing moments at this school, I feel that the Bewl Water trip was the best, as there was a variety of activities to participate in, especially the canoeing, as it was perfect for the hot weather.  

I think that the TGS Sixth Form is special because it is based on a strong sense of community between the Y12 and 13 students. This results in a feeling of confidence that one can count on the support of the entire community, peer students and staff alike. 

I love a lot of things about TGS! I love how welcoming everyone is and how nice it is too! My favourite thing must be the friendliness of everyone! 

I have not decided about what I would do in the future, but after spending almost 3 years here, I understand what I enjoy doing and I believe I probably would study engineering, but as of now, I’m uncertain which branch of engineering I will take further. 

The IB is a very full and rewarding programme so I have been learning that the students here are always very busy and there is so much going on!  There is always something happening and this makes being here feel very exciting. 

We are encouraged to engage with the Sixth Form team, offering ideas about how to improve and develop the school community. This means that our experience is largely shaped by us. I think that this is unique to TGS and that the students here have a strong voice and are connected with staff.

Never before have I met such a diverse range of talented, intelligent, friendly people as I have at the Sixth Form at TGS. Each student is aspiring to do so many interesting things in the future and many of them are already doing fascinating things. I find this environment has inspired me and that is what is so special about TGS.

 I feel particularly motivated to be involved in the TGS Marvellous Meadows project as I am passionate about getting young people to engage with nature; I also believe that this project will demonstrate that rewilding small areas can have a big impact. It can act as a model for other schools to develop their green spaces and re-wild local areas; this may encourage students and staff to use similar methods in their gardens and surrounding areas.  

I love all the interaction I have with my TGS family – and I get so much attention! The students say that when they are around me, they can’t help but smile. And that makes me smile!

The variation in the school community is what I enjoy most about teaching at TGS. I think we're really lucky to have staff and students with so many different backgrounds and approaches to living and learning. I think that's something to be respected and harnessed.

Currently studying Fine Art Printmaking, Georgi is exploring pursuing a career in Art or Speech and Language Therapy.

The IB Diploma prepares students well for life after school. The fact is we only have a vague idea of what challenges the students of today will be facing in their future. This means the only sensible system of education is one which equips students to be reflective learners and to cultivate the skills and values which will make them dynamic and flexible in facing these issues. I think the IB does this through its broad academic curriculum and emphasis on a value-based education.

I choose to teach in an IB school because the philosophy is really aligned with what I think education should be all about. The IB programmes in the middle years and the Sixth Form are academically rigorous and encourage students to think critically. I value being part of a learning community which is culturally aware with an international outlook. 

We, as a school, have a great sense of community. Each person is unique but we are able to gel together and still celebrate our differences. TGS is very caring – with everyone often coming the help of others.
