Page Turners Book Awards

March saw the welcome return of the Page Turners Book Awards; the annual celebration of books and reading held at Kent College Pembury.

This year a large group of very enthusiastic TGS readers attended and heard two inspiring authors talk about poetry, prose and the creative process.

Polly Ho-Yen shared her thoughts about 'brain compost' and Sarah Crossan enthused us about the power of poetry and verse. Students and teachers had a very enjoyable evening, talking about the books we had read, seeing how out thoughts compared to that of other schools and winning prizes.

I loved Sarah Crossan's enthusiasm and enjoyed the whole night. It was a pleasure.

I really enjoyed the energy in the event and it was really fun to see the authors and how their ideas became a book.

Emily

It was wonderful! I loved Polly Ho-Yen's doodling to get ideas demonstration, and it was lovely to have Sarah Crossan there in real life.

Joanna
