Home Languages Club launches podcast series

The first episode in the series features Alexia (Year 8) and Delia (Year 13) who introduce listeners to Romanian and discuss Romanian culture, customs and food.

The students are members of the Home Languages Club that meets weekly.  Mrs Bueno explains more: “The club is an opportunity for students to develop and grow the language that they speak at home. We have speakers of many languages from around the globe!

Attendees don’t need to be proficient in the language, as this is an opportunity to both share and grow their skills. Students from all years attend, so it is a great chance for students to meet people from their culture or country. Students also write articles for the international magazine”.

The reason I joined and did the podcast was because I wanted to see if there were other Romanians in this school that had a similar culture, also I think it is a great opportunity for other people to learn other cultures and languages. I think this is an important thing to be part of because it is a learning opportunity for me and others.
