2023 Careers Fair, Inspiring Futures

Wednesday 8 March saw TGS host our first in person careers fair in two years. It was great to be back!

In the IBarn building 66 volunteers from a broad range of sectors talked one to one with over 250 students from Years 10 to 13 from TGS and from other local Sixth Forms.

In the Mitchener Hall parents and carers met Head Teacher Rebecca Crean and heard talks about how to explore apprenticeships from Pathways CTM, about student finance from Canterbury Christ Church University and how TGS supports students to find their futures.

The Careers Fair happens thanks to many people helping in many ways. Thank you to our sponsors, volunteers and speakers, and thank you to our parents, carers and students for braving the elements on a day that started with snow that threatened a school closure.

Mrs Blackstone, Development & Alumni Relations Director and Miss Keeling, Careers Coordinator.

Students and parents commented:

I learnt about careers I didn't know existed.

I have lots more ideas now.

Enlightening.

It was great to meet alumni from our own school.

The talk about apprenticeships was especially enlightening.
