A busy and successful year for the Chamber Music Trio

The year started with a competition in March at the Tunbridge Wells Arts Festival. Eleanor (violin), Meriel (cello) and Oreva-Oghene (piano) played a trio by Haydn to an audience and adjudicator at Kent College Pembury.

The trio played beautifully together and the adjudicator commented on their mature musicianship, excellent sense of togetherness and their strong individual playing. They were awarded second prize in the Chamber Music category.

They played at the Spring Concert and again at the St Cecilia Concert last week (pictured).

Our thanks to TGS parent and violinist Mrs McKenzie-Jones who has kindly offered her time to coach the trio.

It was a real pleasure to see and hear TGS musicians performing with such commitment and polish!

Mr Hayward, Subject Leader Music.

Well done to Eleanor, the violinist in the trio, who has successfully auditioned for a place in the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain.  She will perform in this year's concerts in venues all over the UK and has been made a String Leader.

Eleanor is one of a number of TGS students who attend music conservatoires on Saturdays.
