The Key Stage 3 Curriculum

The subjects and their timetable allocations based on a fifty eight period (ten day) cycle.

History, Geography, English, RE, PSHE and PE are taught in the five form groups throughout the two years. Students are taught in six groups for Maths, Languages, Technology, Art, ICT, Music and Science.

In Year 7 there is a carousel for languages until Christmas that includes French, Latin and Spanish. This gives students the opportunity to experience a broad range of languages before choosing which two subjects to continue with.

Over the two-year Key Stage, students also participate in four Enquiry Based Learning weeks when the normal timetable is suspended. Integrated within the curriculum this model of learning encourages students to be resilient, resourceful, reflective and work effectively within groups.

Citizenship is taught across the curriculum with specific aspects incorporated into lesson plans.
